Shop the Alzheimer's Foundation eStore

Alzheimer's is a devastating disease that affects millions in the United States. You may remember an earlier post where I talked about a lady I know that has Alzheimer's, but if you do not remember I will retell her story. There is a lady at my church that is suffering the early effects of Alzheimer's. There are times when she forgets where she is or just stares into space. She also forgets who people are including her immediate family. She also understandably seems to suffer from depression and cries a lot. I feel sorry for her and her family, but I try to do my best to encourage them or help them any way I can.

One way that you can help her and others suffering from Alzheimer's is by shopping at the Alzheimer's Foundation eStore. All proceeds from purchases made at the eStore go to support the programs and services of the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. The eStore is a great place to get the perfect holiday gift for your loved ones. The products they offer help to raise awareness and enhance knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease and related illnesses. They have for sale some very beautiful jewelry and I will probably be getting one of their necklaces for my mother this Christmas.

One of the biggest problems facing those suffering the effects of Alzheimer's is receiving quality care. Many family members and medical professionals do not understand how best to handle people with Alzheimer's and dementia. Too often the care is limited to trying to prevent the patients from hurting themselves. While this is important, the care should be comprehensive and include enhancing their quality of life. So, while seeking a cure to Alzheimer's is important, ensuring quality care for those who suffer from the disease must not be overlooked, so the holidays are a good time to gift a donation, buy a gift from the eStore, or just spend some quality time with a friend or family member that is suffering from Alzheimer's.
