Wetsuits

My buddy and his wife recently went on a cruise to the Caribbean. They had a wonderful time and took lots of beautiful pictures. One of the things they did was go snorkeling. It looked like a lot of fun. They actually wore wetsuits and had an underwater camera they used to take lots of pictures of small fish around a coral reef. They said it was a little cool and that was one reason they decided to wear the wetsuit. The water was so clear anyway but being able to snorkel and have your head underwater they were truly able to experience the beauty of that coral reef ecosystem. They took pictures of fish, octopuses, and what looked like the remains of some small sunken ship. If I ever go on a cruise to that area of the world, I definitely think that snorkeling is one activity I want to try.

National Championship

The BCS National Championship is starting. I'm hoping to see a good game. I don't really care who wins just want to see a little more exciting game than the first matchup earlier in the season. Congratulations to both teams who are both very deserving of a national title.

Rental Properties

Content by Donny Vinson

My husband and I own several rental properties near the beach. We try to keep the properties updated so that we continue to have a lot of renters. We get asked a lot of questions about the amenities that our properties offer. One of the most requested amenities is cable tv. People who rent always want to make sure that they will have access to cable tv. I guess part of their vacations include being able to relax and watch any shows they want to. When my husband was setting up the utilities in our properties, he found a few different cable tv packages. We needed cable for several properties, so we wanted to find a good deal. We used a package that was the most reasonable for his money and would give renters a wide range of tv channels to watch. I am glad that we decided to use this package. All of our properties are always booked and they probably would not be if we did not have cable. Although, I’m sure that the beach view helps keep them booked too.

Herbalife

I know most people have been through a dieting kick in their lives. I know I've been through it. When I did, I tried the Herbalife shakes. These are basically meal replacement shakes. They replace two meals of the day, and this program actually works great. Not only can you lose weight and stay healthy, but you can make a little extra money with it.

When using the product, I joined the Herbalife Distributor Program. By signing people up, you can actually earn a significant income. Of course, just as dieting, this is not a quick and easy way to earn money. You actually have to work at it and practice discipline; however if you actually work at it you can be successful. I made an extra income while also earning extra money. You can actually lose weight and make money. Below is a quick video you can watch about the product and the program.

Stretching

The importance of stretching is often overlooked. I know that since I've been doing the pushup/pullup routine, I've seen a difference. Warming up and stretching not only helps limit pulled muscles or injuries, but it help with flexibility. It also helps your muscles to adapt and form to the change they are going through. The important thing is to not overlook the value of stretching.

Varicose Veins

Many women young and old suffer from varicose veins. Understanding the causes and treatments can help people who suffer with varicose veins. Many women experience pains in their legs, but they do not know why. Some women may think that they are too young to have varicose veins. There are several different reasons that this occurs. Prolonged standing is a leading cause of varicose veins; that is why many nurses suffer from this condition.

After women discover that they have varicose veins, then they have questions about how to treat them. Sometimes minor surgery will help, and sometimes a more simple treatment is needed; however, in most cases, insurance will cover the treatment. Usually no time off of work is needed and exercise is encouraged. A great website that answers most questions about varicose veins is metroveinmn.com. This site has a frequently ask questions section that has many helpful answers and tips.

Routine

Some guys and I came up with a way to workout while at work. It is easy and only takes 2 minutes out of each hour tops. We work 4, 10hr days. Every odd hour, we do a set of pushups and every even hour we do a set of pullups. I've worked up to 700 pushups per day and 70 pullups per day. Believe me, it works.

Experiencing the rock opera Rent once again

Guest post written by Maxine Forester

I remember years ago when I was on vacation with my husband in New York and we decided to go and see RENT on Broadway. It was so much fun! Plus, so emotional. It was exactly what we had in mind when we knew that we wanted to watch a play when we were there. As soon as there was even a mention of going to New York on a mini vacation, we knew that we would have to go and see the play's revival for old time's sake.

It's easy to forget that the play is actually a rock opera. It has such a popular following that you would think of it as just a musical, or sometimes I forget and think of it as that way. While I was online finding us tickets, I ran across the site http://www.hearingaidsbymiracleear.com/. I looked through it a little bit and after that I decided to go and get fitted with some hearing aids before our big trip.

I did just that and was able to enjoy the Rent rock opera even more than the first time that we saw it! I guess this time around we can really appreciate it even more, which made it that much better.

Thanksgiving

I am so ready for Thanksgiving. I think it is my favorite holiday. It is a time to get together with family and friends without all of the commercialism of Christmas. It also seems like it is just more laid back and less busy than Christmas. Also, it helps that there is always good football games on that you can watch with all the family. Thanksgiving: Thank God for food, family, and football!

Scrubs

My wife works in the medical field, and, of course, she has to wear uniforms/scrubs. Now this wouldn't be bad, except it's hard to dress "cute" in scrubs. She not only has to match from head to toe, but she has to wear something fashionable. I could tell some funny stories about me trying to slip out of the house with non-matching clothes, or wrinkled clothes.

She has found a site, however, www.blueskyscrubs.com, where she can find and order some cute, fashionable uniforms. This is a great site to find anything like shirts, labcoats, scrub hats and just nice scrubs. It is a great site to find quality nursing uniforms. If you're interested in these, you should definitely check it out.

Zumba

Several of my coworkers have been doing zumba after work. They all gather in the front lobby and follow along to zumba videos on youtube that they watch using a Tivo Premiere. They have a great time. They have been doing this for a couple of months now and they have all lost weight and feel like they are in better shape. I will keep you posted as to how long this lasts and how well they are progressing in their weight loss objective.

Smoke Damage

I have an acquaintance that recently had a freak kitchen fire. He had virtually no physical fire destruction but his whole first floor was almost completely ruined by the smoke. All of the walls were completely black and most of his possessions looked like they were beyond reclamation. Of course, the insurance company was not much help. They almost seemed to not care if the house got cleaned or not. I think they thought it would be easier to say the damage was beyond repair instead of trying to help my friend get it cleaned. However, he was able to hire a cleaning crew that came in and did a marvelous job. They were able to clean the walls and most possessions to the point that you would never know they were damaged. It was actually pretty amazing and I think the walls are actually cleaner than before the fire. If you are interested in how to clean up smoke damage austin I suggest you check out http://www.thesteamteam.com/ for lots of good information and how to get this professional team to repair your site.

Exercise Burn

Man, I am sore. I just started a new exercise program similar to P90X and it is whipping my butt. I can just take solace in the fact that the exercise burn that my muscles are feeling means that I am burning calories as well.

Drug Abuse

Drug abuse is one of the most serious problems facing our nation today. I heard a news announcement yesterday on the radio about drug abuse. It said that about ninety percent of all crime is related to drugs in some way. It also said that about seventy five percent of drug users admitted to using drugs in the workplace. The announcement was encouraging employers to assist employees in getting treatment for their drug problems and in turn this could curb the effects of drug abuse on our country's crime rate and family unit breakdowns.

I have a friend that has a family member that has a problem with drug addiction. He overdosed a few weeks ago and she had to leave work to check on him at the hospital. They had to pump his stomach among other things. Lately she has been looking for a drug abuse rehab center to enroll him in. He has been to one before but he returned to his old problem. My friend was looking on the internet for information on different centers. She thinks it is important to find one that is well established with many years experience. She also feels that it is important that the drug abuse rehab center has experience in treating different problems, involves family members in the treatment, and incorporates both intensive outpatient and inpatient services. I just hope he gets the help that he needs wherever he goes. I'll be praying for him, and I hope you will too.

Taco Bell

I feel a little guilty. I ate at Taco Bell today and really got way off my diet. I didn't order off the Fresco menu like usual. I ordered the 3 taco supreme meal and added a five layer burrito. Just means I'm going to have to cut back tomorrow and spend an extra 30 minutes on the elliptical.

Fall Lineup

This week, my friend sent me the TV Guide fall television lineup for my expert Satellite. Although I enjoy watching, I rarely find the time to stay caught up with the shows, so I try not to start them in the first place. Because of this, I tend to stick to reality television because it’s not terribly complex and I am able to miss an episode and still understand what’s happening. However, a new show, Pan Am did catch my eye and I think I will watch. Seeing as it is on Sunday nights instead of smack in the middle of my busy week, I think I should be able to keep up. I also just found out that a college friend of mine is going to appear in this season’s Amazing Race. I have never watched this show before, but since he’s going to be on it, I’ll have to tune in! Of course, I will stick by my old faithful shows that I have continued to watch year after year, even though most time, the plot gets weaker and weaker.

Classic Beef Stew

Guest post written by Michelle Brown

It had been way too long since I cooked anything. But when I took those last few vacation days off from work at the last minute, I decided that maybe I would do something different during my staycation and try to cook something.

Once I started looking for that, I had a lot of fun looking through all of these recipes before deciding what to actually make. At first I thought about just doing a fun dessert, but I decided that I should could an entree too, at least. When i was searching for an entree to fix, I came across some stuff about high speed internet systems and after I looked through it a little bit I decided to sign up for a new internet service for my apartment.

I settled on a beef stew recipe because I thought I'd be able to eat off that for more than one meal during my staycation and it would be a great meal for this time of the year and I was right! What made it even better was that the only work I had to do doing my days off was cooking.
